Yes, it is.
The Fairy Glen is a real place! A place that inspired the name for my new look business. A totally enchanting, yet weird and wonderful place!
A tale of the faes;
The fairies of Scotland are depicted as a tiny race of beings, who inhabit the inside of green hills, chiefly those of a conical form; in Gaelic termed Sighan. They lead their dances by moonlight, impressing upon the surface the marks of circles within which it is dangerous to sleep, or to be found after sunset.
It is sometimes said to be unlucky to pass such places, without performing some ceremony to avert displeasure of the wee folk. Several stone circles lay out on the ground, with some alters with coins and other articles laid out as offerings.
On a more personal note, I started this business just over a year ago. It started with a stall on an occasional Saturday market in Dumfries town centre, and moved on from there. One website started, my Misi store soon after, and it has taken off a little.
However, I decided it needed a little more of my personality, and that’s how the Fairy Glen came in to being. Fantasy, fairies, myths, legends and folklore has always been something I’ve been interested in, and it just came to me one day when I was looking through some of my photos and found the glen one, above.
At the moment it’s only limited pieces I have for sale, due to time limitations. I hope to increase my stock in time. I will have other bits and pieces here, like fairytales and folklore if you’re interested. You can follow the faes by signing up for updates, or just pop back if you’re in the mood.
Thanks for listening to my ramblings!

Ah, see, now I have posted on your thread, then I found where to reply after all.
“What happened to my memory? Oh, there it is – in the fridge with my pyjamas!!! ”
When I was ten years old, I visited the Isle of Man, and became fascinated with the fairies there.
I thought there was a Fairy Glen there too ……… but with my memory I can never be sure of anything.
There is definitely a Fairy Bridge – I have a photo of me and my sister standing next to it

Have I got the right place now, Rachel? I don’t think I can have, as it says “No responses yet” – but this blogosphere lark is all a big mystery to me!
Anyway………Merry Christmas!
No, I can see it’s come up in the same place, haha, oh dear!
I love such myths, though I am mostly into Irish, English I love fairies.
Thanks for commenting Crystal
I love anything fantastical like faes and dragons and myths etc, so this was a natural progression for me I guess. Scottish born and bred, it’s the Scottish and Celtic tales that fascinate me the most. I hope to write a little more about them in time, but for now I have to use all the time I can gather for my jewellery pieces, lol.
Pop back anytime, we’d love to see you again!
