Fairy Dust!

Good evening all fae fans ~ yes, it’s me again. I wouldn’t normally update as quickly as this, but I do have a wee something to show;

Fae Dust Galore!

Fairy dust! These pendants are still to be used in pieces, probably charm necklaces, but I’ve snagged the purple ‘heart’ one for myself. ;o) I’ll put another the same together, promise!  I do have a video clip of these to try and show the sparkle in them, but it’s not the right format for uploading here. The image below is a custom piece made for a customer, but shows the kind of thing I’ll put together with these.

Hello fae fans, and let me start with an apology. I hadn’t realised it had been so long since I’d made a post here, and Serendipity is not amused. Slapped my wrist, and I’m now doing what I should have done months ago. Writing a post!

Firstly, let me start by announcing a new contest! I’ve been playing with my jewellery findings, and this fae wand appeared in my hand… I think Serendipity had something to do with this one, so all credit to her ;o) She’s quite creative at times, and this is her little thank you to all faes and humans who like her pieces.

This is approx 2 inches in length, from the top of the bail to the tip of the wand. Very fragile, it’s probably not suitable for children.  If you like this, just leave a message/reply to this post, and it could be yours! Depending on people’s opinions, Serendipity may make more.

Other things have been happening at the Glen too. New pieces added to the Misi store, like the piece to the left.

A few new pieces still to be added, hopefully to my personal site which has also been sorrowfully abandoned for a wee while. I’m on ‘holiday’ from my part time job this week, so I hope to get some things organised ~ but probably not all. lol. I will try though. Keep your fingers crossed.

At a snails pace

Hello to all who may read this ~ I know, I know… there’s been nothing from the glen for quite some time. Things have been incredibly slow moving lately, including myself, lol. Got a little lazy over my birthday, and haven’t quite picked up the pace yet.

As from today though, I am trying! Just placed a few orders for some new pewter pieces, which I should get within the next couple of weeks. There should be a dragon, a mermaid, tree of life, unicorn, and a wee fairy on their way here soon. I also need to buy gemstones and other bits and pieces to create the pieces with, but that might have to wait until I get these orders first. Need to see them ‘in real life’ and get a feel for them before I decide perhaps. We’ll see.

Misi has undergone a spring clean, and has a new look ~ took me a wee minute or two to get used to it and find everything, lol. Take a peek and see what you think..? Now that Misi is back, and I can see what I have in there again, I’m thinking maybe a bracelet or something different should be added. I seem to have mostly necklaces, with the occasional pair of earrings. Hmmm.

Nothing else to report on the business side of things. Maybe thinking of expanding and having an Etsy store as well as my own and Misi, but that all depends on how motivated I can get.

On a side note, I’ve rediscovered the joys of Kate Bush, and am totally loving Mumford & Sons and Paolo Nutini Good times!

Birthday

As the title of this entry might indicate, my birthday is coming up. This Friday (19th) to be precise. So, I’ve treated myself to the pieces in the entry before this and have been thinking what to make with them.  My muse struck gold this afternoon and totally took me by surprise at the same time, lol. Wasn’t planning on making anything today, but… well, as you can see, I did.

Click the image, and you should get a slightly larger view of it. I made a beaded chain first, in ‘water’ tones (blues, greys and occasional golds). Then attached the pewter pendant with some ocean toned Swarovski crystals. Finally, I attached a rock shaped / randomly formed golden Swarovski crystal at the bottom, matching the gold toned beads on the chain. It has an extender chain at the clasp, where I’ve attached another crystal, some beads and a ‘hope’ charm. The back of the pendant states ‘The sea, once it casts it’s spell, holds one in it’s net of wonder forever.’ Cousteau.

It’s delightful! I can’t wait to show it off, lol! Happy Birthday me I’m on holiday from my part time job this week, which is really nice. I’ve never had my birthday week off at this workplace before, in the 7-8 years that I’ve been there.

Hello once again! I have mentioned before about new things at the glen, so I’ve decided to show a little preview of something that will be appearing ~ I just don’t know when yet!

I’ve done a test purchase, and can tell you I love and adore these new pendants. They’re the most amazing things, and you could stare at them for hours without getting bored. The amount of work and detail in them is awesome, as you will see. Although, on saying that, the piccies I have here aren’t that great compared to normal. This test purchase was with my personal cash, so these aren’t for sale. What a shame, I’ll just have to keep them for myself. *grin*

I adore them all, but my favourite has to be pomegranite fairy. She’s just adorable, and it’s so unusual! Extremely weighty too, although you don’t feel it so much when you’re wearing it. I have her on a plain silver chain right now, but am unsure if I’m going to do anything more unusual eventually. The others I’ll play with when time allows.

I am going to order some things for the business, but as of right now, I don’t know what to buy! There’s so  much choice, it’s really difficult. I’ll update as and when I get anything new in.

Another update is that my ‘Dragonfly Moon’ piece has just sold; so thank you very much!

I really need to get working on some new pieces, and I promise I will. Honest! It’s just taking longer than I thought to get things together and get myself motivated. Now that there is better weather and a little sunshine (yes, sunshine!!) that might brighten the outlook a little.

My birthday is coming up on 19th of this month, and I have a night out planned with the girls. It’s a Grease/50′s inspired night out, so it should be a lot of fun. If anyone takes piccies, you might just get to see a slightly inebriated me, lol.

Something quite rare…

Yep, something quite rare and special is about to hit the Fairy Glen store! Serendipity hasn’t quite decided if she’s really going to let this go or not, but I’ve almost persuaded her.

A little wish, cross your fingers and sprinkle some fairy dust, and you never know what might happen!

The essence of the fairy is inside this fairy dust, and if you wish hard enough, you may just see her! Like little drops of stardust, it shimmers and glitters delightfully; the colours playing in the light. Inside the bottle is a shooting star crystal, caught by Serendipity one night while making her way across the glen. The bottle has a luscious silk ribbon, with a pink fairy dust crystal.

The making of the fairy dust crystal is quite easy for the faes, but involves heat, so is only done by the careful faes!

The essence of the fairy is inside this fae dust too, but this one’s a water sprite! Close your eyes, dream of the ocean, sprinkle a little dust, and she may just magically appear in your dreams! Just as the ocean sparkles and glimmers with all the colours in the fairy’s imagination;  this fae dust captures the beauty and wonder.  Inside this bottle dangles three water crystals, caught by the sprites and delivered gracefully to the faes for their magic and spells.

This bottle again has a luscious silk pink ribbon, and an ocean crystal dangles enticingly; catching the light at play.

Each bottle comes with a card of authenticity; hand written by Serendipity herself. The bottles are placed inside an organza bag, and sealed with bubble wrap to cocoon the precious content. As soon as I have persuaded Serendipity to actually part with these, they will be available for purchase, lol.

Please take note that these are NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN.

On a side note, I am still having occasional headaches and not functioning at 100% yet. No actual new jewellery made for sale, but I have tried to cheer myself up a little by creating a pair of small earrings for myself. ;o)

Headaches

Apologies for the lack of posts and communication lately. I’ve been plagued by headaches recently, and just haven’t had the energy or willpower to get anything done. Being sinus headaches, it feels like someone’s stabbing you in the eye, or the eye area, and any movement is extremely painful.

Hopefully this will change soon, but for now, here’s a pretty picture or two, lol.

River of Life

The vast river flows fast and furious, the foam and spray almost enchanting as it passes by. The roar of the water cascades through your very soul. A sparkling, dancing, enticing light catches your eye, and you stare mesmerised, deep in thought. What must it be like to have such fury, yet such beauty at the same time..?
This necklace has a porcelain puffed coin bead at it’s heart, the colours delightfully oceanic. Wire wrapped in Vintaj brass wire, Swarovski crystals catch the light and dance and glimmer, like the spray and beautiful colours of the water. Strung onto a length of moss coloured faux suede, finished off with a standard lobster clasp.

Well, due to time limitations it looks like I won’t have anything  much in particular available for Valentines day. Sad, but a fact of life. I did have one piece all ready to be uploaded and going on sale… but it’s already sold!

This is the key to love, a necklace born out of adoration. Serendipity is famous in the Fairy Glen for her romantic dreaming, and she loved dreaming this one up. As usual made with Vintaj and Trinity brass pieces.

‘He who holds the key, can unlock my heart’ is the printing on the heart, that has a rose pink Swarovski crystal attached. A swallow floats and dives nearby, and on the other side of the chain is ‘the key’, which unlocks the heart of the wearer. The key is detachable, and can therefore be given to the true love of the owners heart. The key has a golden Swarovski crystal attached, as does the clasp of the necklace.

Bless, Serendipity can be really mushy at times. LOL. It is a lovely piece though, and I hope to create something along similar lines (love)  in the future. As always though, this is unique and no other will ever be made like it.

Tomorrow I hope to update my stores with new pieces, but the rest of tonight is ‘me’ time. If anyone is looking for cards for Valentines, or any other celebration, then my friend Laura has an excellent Misi site too.
